Pennie® Awards Health Market Connect LLC the Contract to Lead Statewide Outreach and Enrollment Support

May 28, 2025

PENNSYLVANIA – May 28, 2025 – Pennie, Pennsylvania’s official health insurance marketplace (pennie.com), has selected Health Market Connect LLC (HMC) as its new statewide assister network contractor, starting in June 2025.  HMC will play a critical role in advancing Pennie’s goal of ensuring that every Pennsylvania community has the support needed to find and enroll in quality, affordable health coverage.

Pennie continues to seek local partners across Pennsylvania to join its assister network, led by HMC, that can locally share information and provide support. Organizations interested in partnering with Pennie through local outreach can complete this form to be considered.

Pennie-Certified Assisters provide free, local, and in-person support to individuals and families exploring their health insurance options. These dedicated professionals guide consumers through every step of the enrollment process. This includes helping consumers with understanding their coverage options when submitting their applications as well as helping them connect to financial savings that can significantly lower their monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs. Assisters play a critical role in reaching uninsured and underserved communities by building awareness and fostering trust through grassroots outreach.

Chosen through a competitive bidding process, Health Market Connect LLC will lead the expansion of the Assister Network by establishing regional partner organizations across the Commonwealth. These regional hubs will work closely with local communities, making it easier for more Pennsylvanians to understand their coverage options and access the financial savings available through Pennie.

“Free, personalized enrollment assistance is one of the most impactful ways we can connect Pennsylvanians with the health coverage they need to access medical care,” said Pennie Executive Director Devon Trolley. “Whether you’re in the rolling hills of the Laurel Highlands, the bustling streets of Philadelphia, the farms of Lancaster, or the small towns along the Northern Tier, Pennie is excited to expand our network through the work of Health Market Connect to ensure no Pennsylvanian is without the peace of mind that comes with affordable, high-quality health coverage.”

“This partnership with Pennie marks an exciting step forward in our mission to connect more individuals and families with the coverage they deserve. Together, we’re breaking down barriers to access and simplifying the path to quality care” said Keith Ballingall, President of Health Market Connect. “We believe that through collaboration and community outreach, we can make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of Pennsylvanians statewide.”

Pennie is Pennsylvania’s official health insurance marketplace, providing the only connection to financial savings that lowers the cost of high-quality private health insurance plans. These savings come in the form of on-the-spot tax credits that can significantly reduce monthly premiums. In fact, nine out of 10 Pennie enrollees qualify for financial savings, which on average lower costs by around $500 a month.

Pennsylvanians looking for health coverage can visit pennie.com or call Pennie Customer Service at 844-844-8040, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
